What's the 6000D? A mythical mountain race covering 60KM for 4000M of hill walking during which you will discover la grande Plagne resorts. Starting in Aime, this race will lead you up to the summit of Bellecôte Glacier before returning down to the valley. The trail is well marked out : 95% of it belong to regular walking paths. You will cross various moutain levels and landscapes before reaching the screes and the glacier. The descent is far less traumatic thanks to the crossing of the village of Montchavin. All along the Trail, an enthusiastic and numerous crowd will encourage you for this 23nd edition, on saturday July 28,2012.
The start – Even if the start is very fast, never panic. 60km is a very long way and all sorts of things always happen!!
From les Esserts up to the glacier you must find a steady cruising pace because it is uphill all the way (some flat or gentle downhill parts for recovery, but very few).
After the glacier the 1000m of vertical descent should be negotiated without starving the muscles of oxygen as the climb of 450m of vertical ascent that follows can be very painful.
From the Arpette all the way down to the valley the descent is generally steep with a lot more sectors with loose surfaces than in past years, particularly towards the finish.
Supporters can watch the runners from the points shown in the Road Book.
