The 6000D is organised by the Tourist Office with support from the municipalities of Aime la Plagne, la Plagne Tarentaise and the Société d’Aménagement de la Plagne.

The Event

The 6000D is a “nature” event, following La Plagne’s network of trails and going via Bellecôte Glacier. The event is run in a single stage at your own pace, with last hourly barrier in Sangot at 6.30 pm over 69km with 3400m of elevation gain going from the basilica in Aime.
The course is marked out with specific markers – marks on the ground, tape and wooden sign posts.

PLEASE NOTE: SCHEDULE CHANGE FOR 2026:
the start will be at 4:30 am from Aime for greater safety in case of bad weather at altitude on Saturday, 1 August 2026.
There will be between 3 and 4 waves of 500 people starting every 15 minutes.

Race UTMB Index races no longer award points but allow runners to have a valid performance index and be part of the UTMB Index ranking. Entry conditions

To take part, it is essential that:

  • you are fully aware of the distance and specific nature of the event and are fully trained for it
  • before starting the race you have achieved an effective level of autonomy enabling you to deal with the problems inherent to this type of event, notably:
  • the ability to tackle the potentially difficult weather conditions due to the altitude ( wind, cold, rain or snow) without assistance
  • the ability to cope with the physical and mental problems resulting from extreme fatigue, digestive problems, muscle or joint pain, small injuries, etc.
  • that you are fully aware that it is not the role of the organisers to help a runner to deal with these problems
  • that you are fully aware that in such “nature” events, safety depends on the runner’s ability to adapt to problems that they encounter or anticipate.

Dogs are not allowed with the runner

This race is open to anybody, male or female, born in or before 2006 (categorie Espoirs upto Masters 8 ), licensed or not.

For this edition, the PPS will be compulsory

The FFA has introduced the Parcours Prévention Santé (PPS) for all non-licensed adult participants in running competitions organised in France, replacing the medical certificate.
In the 3 months prior to the competition, all non-licensed adult participants must log on to the pps.athle.fr platform to follow the awareness-raising stages, via educational content (text and video). At the end of the course, the participant receives a PPS code to be registered.

The following licences are accepted:

Athlé Compétition, Athlé Entreprise, Athlé Running or ‘Pass’ J’aime Courir’ issued by the FFA and valid at the time of registration.
A sports licence, valid on the date of the competition, issued by one of the approved federations and showing, by any means, that there are no contraindications to the practice of competitive sport, competitive athletics or competitive running.

Semi self-sufficiency

The principle of individual racing in semi-self-sufficiency is the rule.

In particular:

Refreshment stations are supplied with drinks and food to be consumed on site. The organisation provides still and sparkling water, sweet drinks, Pulco for filling water bottles or bags. You will also have, fresh and dried fruit, soup, sugar, sweet and salty biscuits and cheese.

The rider must ensure that at the start of each feeding station he has the necessary quantity of water and food to reach the next feeding point. You must have a zipped bag to put your food in at the refreshment posts.

Maximum number of runners

Limited to 2000 runners

Exchange, resale or postponement of a registration

No exchange of race numbers (race or runner) or postponement of a year or resale of your race number is possible.
Please note that you must present your identity card when collecting your race number for individual verification purposes.

Cancelling your registration

As part of your online registration (prior to payment), you can take out Beticketing cancellation insurance with MutuAide in the event of unforeseen and/or accidental inability to take part in the event. Simply return to your runner’s area and request a refund.

IF YOU DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS, THE ORGANISATION WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING IN THE EVENT OF ABSENCE FOR ANY REASON.

  • You will be reimbursed 80% of the registration fee in the days following the event by providing the required proof.
  • Insures all unforeseeable and sudden causes
  • Refund within 72 hours by bank transfer

You will always be asked for the reason for cancellation. You will be asked to provide proof to validate your request for reimbursement.

Cancellation or postponement of the trip is not covered by the insurance.

Please note that if you subsequently cancel or transfer your entry to another event, the insurance will be lost.

Important / team registration, insurance is an individual option that must be taken out for each team member.

Please note that the cancellation insurance only covers the registration and not the paying options subscribed in the form.

Equipment

In the height of summer, in the Tarentaise Valley, conditions can vary considerably: it can be very hot (over 30/35°C in the valley), but also very cold (down to -10°C above 2000 m – see weather conditions during the 6000D 2025 at Live3000), or it can rain, hail or snow. Your equipment must therefore enable you to cope with all these conditions and to remain on the course for many hours. In the event of an incident, it must also ensure your safety while you wait for assistance in good conditions.You must carry the compulsory equipment at all times, otherwise you will be penalised. Checks will be carried out before the start, during the race and at the finish.It is essential to understand that the equipment required by the organiser is a minimum requirement. Each participant must adapt their equipment to their personal abilities. We strongly recommend that you test your equipment during training in a variety of conditions and bring everything you need to ensure your safety and performance.

  • Working mobile phone
  • Survival blanket
  • Whistle
  • Reusable cup or flask
  • 4 pins or fastening system for race number
  • Waterproof jacket with integrated hood (minimum 10,000 Schmerber – 20,000 Schmerber recommended)
  • Trousers
  • Tights
  • Overtrousers or jumpsuit covering the entire legs (e.g. tights with high socks)
  • Water supply of at least 1 litre (1.5 litres recommended)
  • Food supply
  • Crampons or snow chains
  • Working headlamp + spare batteries
  • Identification (in case of emergency, in particular)

Strongly recommended :

  •  Gloves
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Cap
  • Neck warmer
  • Additional water and food supplies

Hiking poles are allowed.

Provisions for extreme weather conditions:

The ‘heatwave’ and ‘bad weather’ kits are an integral part of the mandatory equipment. Depending on weather conditions, the organiser may activate one or other of these kits and will inform all participants before the distribution of race numbers begins.

Heatwave kit:

  • 2 litres of water at the start of each refreshment station
  • Saharan cap or cap + neck warmer to cover the neck
  • Sunglasses

Cold weather/bad weather kit:

  • Gloves
  • Neck warmer or hat
    An extra layer for the upper body (fleece, softshell, down jacket, thick fleece, etc.)
  • Waterproof membrane trousers (minimum 10,000 Schmerber – 20,000 Schmerber recommended)

It is strongly recommended that you wear clothing suitable for the mountains, offering effective protection against the cold, wind and snow, in order to ensure your safety and optimise your performance. All clothing must be the right size for you and remain in good condition after purchase, without modification.

These rules are designed to ensure the safety and smooth running of the race. Please comply with them strictly.

Bibs

Bibs are handed out individually to each competitor, as long as they provide an identity document and the bib card which will be sent a few days before the event.
If you have registered before the end of June 2026, your name will be on your bib.
Bibs must be worn on the chest or stomach and must be visible at all times during the race.It must therefore always be worn above any clothing and may not be attached to a bag or a leg under any circumstances. The name and logos of the partners must not be modified or hidden.
You must bring your own safety pins to attach your bib in accordance with the regulations.
Bibs will be distributed in Salle des Fêtes in Aime (start of the race)
– Thursday July 30, 2026 from 2 pm to 6.30 pm
– Friday July 31 2026 from 10 am to 7 pm
– Saturday August 1 2026 from 3:30 am to 4:30 am

Safety and medical assistance

There will be 10 first aid posts set up at various points along the course. These posts are linked by radio or telephone to the race headquarters.

A medical regulation team will be present throughout the event at the race headquarters in Aime.

The first aid posts are intended to provide assistance to any person in danger using the organisation’s own resources or those agreed upon.

It is up to a runner in difficulty or seriously injured to call for help:
It is up to a runner who is in difficulty or seriously injured to call the rescue service:

  • by going to a first aid post
  • by calling race HQ. (The phone number will be written on your bibs)
  • by asking another competitor to alert the rescue service

It is the responsibility of each runner to assist any person in danger and to call for help.

 Do not forget that all kinds of hazards, linked to the environment and the race, may make you wait longer than expected for help.  A runner who calls on a doctor or a rescuer submits to their authority and agrees to accept their decisions.

The first aiders, on medical advice, and the official doctors are in particular entitled to:

  • withdraw from the race (by invalidating the number) any competitor who is unfit to continue the event .
  • to evacuate by any means they deem appropriate any runner they consider to be in danger
  • The race time will be neutralised for the rider who assists an injured person.

Checkpoints and feeding stations

All runners must pass through the 8 checkpoints and 5 feeding stations (food and water, see section on semi self-sufficiency) and 3 water stations (see course technical information table).
A dedicated space to refreshments of personal supplies will be set up in the area.
Only runners wearing a visible number and who have been duly checked will be allowed into the feeding stations.
The technical information table will show an exact list of the feeding and water stations and first aid posts.

Maximum time allowed and time limits

No limit time but last hourly barrier in Sangot at 6.30 pm (65km)
The 5 time limits (4.30am start in Aime, 10.15am at Plagne Centre, 12.45pm at Live 3000 (at the top), 3.15pm at Bellecôte, at 4.45pm in Montchavin and 6.30pm in Sangot) are calculated to allow runners to reach the finish line in good physical condition.
To be allowed to continue the event, competitors must leave the checkpoint before the set time.
Any competitor withdrawn from the race who wishes to carry on can only do so after handing over their bib and on the understanding that they does so under theirown responsibility.
In case of bad weather and/or for safety reasons, the organisers reserve the right to stop the event, change the route or to change the time limits.

Showers

It is possible to take a shower, only after the  finishing in the locker room of the Gymnase in Aime (200m from the start).
Only participants will have access to the showers.

Abandonment and Repatriation

Except in the case of injury, competitors can only withdraw at a checkpoint. They must notify as soon as possible the person in charge of the checkpoint who will cancel their bib.
The person in charge of the checkpoint will decide how they will get the participant back to the start, according to the following general rules:

  • Small buses are available from Plagne Bellecôte and Montchavin to bring back to Aime runners who have abandoned and who will not be in time at the barriers: 10.15 am at Plagne Centre, 12.45 pm at Live 3000, 3.15 pm at Bellecôte, 4.45 pm at Montchavin and 6.30pm at Sangot.
  • runners who abandon at another aid station or feeding station but whose state of health does not require them to be evacuated must return to the nearest repatriation point as soon as possible and by their own means.
  • With regard to aid stations accessible by car or 4×4: when the station closes, the organisation may, within the means available, repatriate runners who have abandoned and are still present at the station.
  • In the event of unfavourable weather conditions justifying the partial or total stoppage of the race, the organisation will ensure the repatriation of the stopped runners as soon as possible.

The sweeper can cancel the bib of any competitor he meets that wants to withdraw. The competitor is then no longer under the organisers’ control.

Disqualification

Race marshals present on the course, and the heads of the various checkpoints and feed stations are empowered to enforce the rules and to immediately apply a disqualification in the event of non-compliance, according to the following rules:
An automatic disqualification applies in the following cases:

  • If you are out of time at a time barrier you will also have to hand in your number to the head of post or the race director
  • Failure or refusal to enter the start locker to activate the electronic chip
  • Cutting a corner to make a significant shortcut
  • Throwing of rubbish (voluntary act) by a competitor or a member of his entourage. Waste bins will be placed at the feed zones. Participants must keep their rubbish and packaging until the places indicated by the organisation have been found to dispose of it. Throwing any object, paper or rubbish on the road is strictly forbidden, an immediate disqualification will take place.
  • Lack of respect for individuals (officials or competitors)
  • Not assisting someone in difficulty
  • Cheating (example: using means of transport, sharing a bib …)
  • Failure to carry an electronic chip
  • Failure to pass through a checkpoint
  • Refusal to comply with an instruction from race management, a race commissioner, the person in charge of a checkpoint or feeding station, a doctor or a member of the rescue service
  • Refusing a drug test
  • Leaving a checkpoint after the time limit
  • Any other infringement of the rules will incur a sanction to be decided by the race jury

Drug testing

Any participants may be subjected to a drug test during the event or at the finish. In case of refusal or non-compliance, the athlete will be sanctioned as though he/she had been convicted of drug-use.

Alteration to the course or the time limits / Cancellation of the race

The organisers reserve the right to alter the course and location of the first aid posts and feeding stations at any time and without notice.
In the event of excessively unfavourable weather conditions (large quantities of rain and snow at altitude, strong risk of thunderstorms, etc.) the start may be postponed or delayed.
In the event of bad weather conditions, and for safety reasons, the organisation reserves the right to stop the event in progress, to modify the time limits or the route.
In case of cancellation of the event for all causes, no refund will be possible (a possible postponement of part of the registration fee may be considered for the following year)

Insurance

Civil liability:

The organisers takes out civil liability insurance for the duration of the event. This insurance covers the financial consequences for which they, their officials and the participants are responsible.

Individual accident:

Each competitor must have personal accident insurance covering possible search and rescue costs in France. Such insurance can be taken out with any organisation of the competitor’s choice, and in particular with the GBC Montagne insurance company, partner of the 6000D:

Road book: technical information table

The table can be downloaded from the www.la6000d.com web site or trace de trail. It includes a map of the race and useful information such as time limits and location of feeding stations, first aid posts, and treatment stations. Supporters can go and watch the runners at the places indicated in the tab – More Informations (Acess).

Image rights

According to Article L333-2 of the Sports Code, “the organizers of sports events […] are the owners of the right to use the events or competitions they organize.”

Participants are informed that the Grande Plagne Tourist Office, holder of the exploitation rights for the various 6000D races, may be required to photograph and/or film the event in order to promote future competitions. This filming can be carried out by flying over the courses of the various races with the Phantom2 studioSport remote-controlled aircraft.

The image of the participants captured during the event may be freely distributed by the Grande Plagne Tourist Office, provided that

• there is a link between the image and what it illustrates
• the image does not offend the dignity of the person
• that the image is not used for commercial purposes.

The 6000D is a legally registered trademark. Any communication about the event or the use of images of the event must respect the name of the event, registered trademarks and with the official agreement of the organization.

No photos of the 6000D event may be sold without the agreement of the race director.

Taking part in the 6000D implies unreserved acceptance of the present regulations and the race charter below :

The rules are designed for everyone and applied to everyone equally.
No cash endowments and all entrants receive the same prize and all finishers get a gift Finisher.

Respect for the local population that hosts the race
Respect for the organisation and its partners

Respect for our planet

Never throw anything on the ground.
Respect the fauna and flora.
Do not cut the paths, as this causes damaging erosion of the site.
Use public transport or carpooling for yourself and those accompanying you.

You should bring your own foldable reusable cup as there will be no more disposable cups at the refreshment posts to limit waste.
There will be a large number of sorting bins at each feed station, which must be used.
